Session Description

Smart cities can improve citizen services by converting data into data-driven decisions. Specifically, good planning starts with listening to people and to evidence. Cities now have access to richer insights than ever before, from community input to environmental and mobility data, but the real challenge is turning information and data into decisions that improve places. In this context, this session will trace the full journey of smart urban planning: gathering the right data, engaging residents, visualizing options, and choosing investments that deliver long-term value. It will also underscore the importance of seamless data transformation in achieving cost-effective and sustainable urban improvements and identify both supportive and impeding factors in the journey towards smarter cities.
