Session Description

This roundtable will explore how biometrics, digital identity and next generation connectivity are reshaping the passenger journey, from airport to aircraft and beyond. With IDEMIA bringing real world perspectives on facial recognition, baggage identity and seamless airport processing, we will look at how trusted identity can remove friction while improving security and personalisation.

We will also look further ahead to 5G NTN and increasingly connected aircraft, asking an important question: as passengers move between airports, airlines, terrestrial networks and satellite connectivity, how do we ensure their trusted digital identity travels seamlessly with them?

Why attend?

  • Hear directly from aviation and technology leaders on how biometrics, digital identity and connectivity are already transforming the passenger journey.
  • Explore what comes next, including 5G NTN, connected aircraft and maintaining trusted passenger identity across terrestrial and satellite networks.
  • Discuss the real challenges around interoperability, security, resilience and creating a genuinely seamless journey across airports, airlines and connectivity providers.
  • Help shape the future, bringing aviation and telecom leaders together to identify where collaboration and common industry requirements are needed.

Agenda:

  • Welcome & scene setting — GSMA Fusion: how passenger experience is evolving and why aviation and telecoms need to work more closely together.
  • The seamless airport — IDEMIA: biometrics, facial recognition, baggage identity and removing friction from the passenger journey.
  • The connected passenger — How 5G, network capabilities and digital identity can enable greater personalisation, security and resilience.
  • From ground to air — 5G NTN, connected aircraft and the challenge of maintaining trusted passenger identity as connectivity moves between terrestrial and satellite networks.
  • Roundtable discussion — What needs to happen next? Where are the gaps, and what should aviation and telecoms solve together?
  • Closing thoughts & actions — Key takeaways and opportunities for collaboration
