Mikko Lavanti is Senior Vice President of Mobile Networks at Nokia for the Middle East and Africa, overseeing the company’s largest regional business with full P&L responsibility. He also serves as Managing Director of Nokia’s Regional Headquarters in Saudi Arabia and sits on the board of Nokia Al Saudia. A member of Nokia’s Mobile Networks Leadership Team, Mr Lavanti has over 30 years of global experience in telecommunications, with leadership roles across Nokia, ADVA, and Coriant. His career has taken him through key hubs including Espoo, Silicon Valley, Munich, and Dubai. Recognized in Forbes Middle East’s "Global Meets Local" ranking (2024 & 2025), Mikko is known for his strategic vision, operational excellence, and people-centric leadership. He holds an M.Sc. in Telecommunications from Helsinki University of Technology. Based in Riyadh, he enjoys skiing, Formula 1, and musical theater, and is a proud husband, father of five ladies and recently promoted to a grandpa.
