Dr. Devid Jegerson is a visionary executive with 30+ years of experience in payments, banking, eCommerce and digital transformation. Renowned for shaping the fintech landscapes across Europe, US and the Middle East, he has led groundbreaking initiatives from idea to market across four continents.
His career includes four startups and several pioneering firsts: the world's first rechargeable prepaid card (2002), an early Revolut-like eMoney account (2006), a full-stack (VISA/MC licensed) eCommerce acquiring platform (2008), Europe's first Venmo-style P2P system (2014), and the first native cloud-based payment platform in the Middle East (2016).
In the UAE, he co-founded and led as Chief Executive Officer the noon.com’s payment business, launching noonpay, a PCI-certified, MENA-native PSP and acquiring platform. He also served as Chief Digital Officer at National Bank of Fujairah, where he launched nbfconnect, a SME digital platform and Fintech Hub, driving digital transactions and fostering fintech partnerships. As Chief Operating Officer of InvestBank, he executed a full-scale digital and operational turnaround, including migrating the bank’s core to a cloud-native infrastructure and introducing AI-led credit and treasury processes. Currently, as Chief Executive Officer of PayLater, he is leading the launch and scale of Qatar’s first licensed Sharia-compliant BNPL platform under QCB.
Devid serves or has served as Board Member and Advisor to Webidoo, UAE Trade Connect, Emirates Digital Wallet (Klip), and Mangrovia Blockchain. He is an Individual Expert to the European Data Protection Board, a Scientific Committee member at AICEL, and a frequent speaker and lecturer on fintech innovation, AI, and regulation.
He holds a Research Doctorate with distinction from Abu Dhabi University, an EMBA from MIP Politecnico di Milano, and degrees in Markets Strategy and Business Management from Università Cattolica. His research explores AI in payments, blockchain adoption, crypto regulation, and digital remittances.
He is the author of “Pagamenti elettronici. Dal baratto ai portafogli digitali” (goWare, 2016) and multiple award-winning research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
