Are minors able to attend MWC Doha?

GSMA’s events are strictly business-to-business (B2B) professional networking environments and are solely intended to allow industry professionals to conduct business and engage in commercial discussions. Events are not designed for minors. The presence of minors is strongly discouraged and may be subject to an absolute per event limit.

The minimum age required to attend the event is 16 years of age; however, GSMA acknowledges that there may be certain circumstances in which an attendee has to bring an individual younger than 16 years of age i.e. a minor. Should an attendee be required to bring a minor to the event they must request approval from GSMA (approval is at GSMA’s sole discretion) prior to entering the event (please click here to submit the form). The approval process can take up to 72 hours and any on-site requests may significantly delay your entry to the event, so you are encouraged to make all requests in advance.

Before deciding to bring a minor to the event, attendees should be aware that the event environment may not be suitable for all minors due to:

  • Large crowds
  • Loud noises and music
  • Significant visual stimulation (including bright lights, large screens and tech demonstrations)

Should you decide to still bring a minor to the event, we are committed to providing you both with a safe experience.

All attendees who bring a minor to the event must always accompany the minor and shall be responsible for ensuring both the minor’s safety and the minor’s compliance with all rules and regulations, including all health and safety protocols. Attendees are asked to help maintain a professional, disturbance-free environment. For safety reasons, minors are not permitted entry to the event venue during build-up and dismantling.

Is there a dress code and / or anything else I should be aware of when attending the event?

Business or business casual attire is expected and we ask that you behave professionally throughout, bearing in mind that attendees come from many different cultures. You may be asked to alter your appearance or leave the event if your clothing or conduct is inappropriate or could reasonably offend other attendees. For everyone’s safety, we may also carry out security checks on attendees at any time.

Can I take photos or videos at the event?

Yes, you are free to take photos and videos in public event areas for your own personal use. We’d just ask that you be respectful of other attendees’ privacy and please don’t record in any exhibitor’s private or invite-only spaces without their permission. Please be aware that GSMA and other attendees may also be filming and photographing throughout the event and by attending you’re agreeing that you might appear in the background of crowd shots which may be used for promotional purposes. If you’d rather not appear in any event recordings, please email dataprivacy@gsma.com and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
