Session Description

Ready for Post-Quantum shift?

This session is designed to delve into the critical implications and opportunities of Post-quantum Cryptography (PQC) within the telco industry focusing in MENA. As quantum computing advances at an unprecedented pace, the telco sector—an integral pillar supporting global connectivity—faces unique challenges in safeguarding its infrastructure and ensuring secure communication protocols for billions of users worldwide.

While PQC promises future-proof communications, its implementation comes with some challenges that need to be overcome. The intention is also to discuss those challenges, such as performance Impacts, compatibility, standardisation issues, and cybersecurity education.

The session will dedicate a segment to evaluating the telco industry's readiness to embrace Post-Quantum Cryptography. It promises to provide a comprehensive platform for telecom professionals, cryptography experts, and policymakers to engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of secure communications in the quantum era. By addressing implementation perspectives, identifying challenges, and assessing readiness, this seminar aims to guide the telco industry toward a post-quantum era, fortifying the backbone of global communication against emerging threats.
