Omar Asa'ad is the Co-Founder and chairperson of Smart WTI, bringing a strong academic and professional background in electrical engineering, power systems, and sustainable innovation. Holding a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power and Energy from the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), his thesis and research revolved around photovoltaic systems and sensorless weather estimation—laying a solid foundation for his work in resource optimisation.
As a key driver behind Smart WTI, Omar leads the development and implementation of IoT and AI-powered water management solutions. His technical expertise in energy efficiency, certified by his Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential, enables him to design systems that are not only smart but also energy-conscious and sustainable.
Omar has been instrumental in deploying Smart WTI’s technology across various sectors—including agriculture, schools, and industrial clients—enabling real-time monitoring, leak detection, and consumption optimisation. Under his technical leadership, Smart WTI has achieved measurable impact, such as reducing water and energy wastage by up to 30% for clients.
In addition to his role at Smart WTI, Omar serves as General Manager of the Smart Group, which includes Smart Eye and NeuroTech, further showcasing his capacity to lead multidisciplinary tech teams and drive digital transformation across companies.
A passionate trainer and educator, Omar has also conducted specialised training sessions with organisations such as GSMA, the World Food Programme, and DigiSkills, spreading knowledge in IoT, renewable energy, and sustainable tech—aligning perfectly with Smart WTI’s mission of empowerment and innovation.
