Selected headlines and global discoveries from the Doha showfloor.

Sold-out, gold-standard exhibition

Over 250 iconic global brands and MENA legends packed out the fully-subscribed showfloor of the first MWC Doha. Three halls were filled end-to-end with creative innovations, pivotal conversations and intelligent tech at the edge of ingenuity, all designed to fuel our journey to a more connected world.

Google, Microsoft, Ooredoo, Vodafone, Ericsson, Nokia, HP, Fortinet, Cisco, ZTE, Huawei were among the hundreds of digital-first brands to surprise and inspire with the latest advances, alongside the world’s media giants, industry analysts and research frontrunners.

Talk of the show: experiential technologies

  • A record‑setting demo of Elmo deeptech – supported by GSMA Fusion, Ooredoo, Nokia and Ericsson – let drivers in Doha control a car located 4,300 km away in Tallinn. Remote operation was enabled by a 5G Standalone link, setting the standard for ultra‑low‑latency networks in smart mobility.

  • Pro drivers and delegates took the wheel in Veloce’s e-sports racing tour de force, also fuelled by Ooredoo Qatar’s 5G-SA network. Curated by GSMA Fusion, the arcade-style experience highlighted how intelligent networks are turning up the quality dial in entertainment, gaming and immersive fandom.

  • In a demo from Qatar’s Khalifa University and Finland’s Aalto University visitors explored a remote environment via a reactive digital twin. The result? Real-time manoeuvres combining VR teleoperation, 360° environmental sensing, AI-powered 3D content generation and tactile feedback.

  • The EH216-S pilotless passenger eVTOL from EHang was the showpiece of the Qatar Pavilion, where 32 national digital projects were presented by 17 government bodies, concentrating on smart cities, digital gov services, digital identity and emerging tech. EH216-S previously took passengers on a region-first pilotless urban flight.
