Speaker Bio
Dr. Aiman Erbad is the VP of Research and Innovation and Professor of Computer Engineering at the College of Engineering in Qatar University. Aiman is a Co-Founder at Qamia, the first quantum computing company in the MENA region, with an aim to develop sovereign quantum solutions. He currently serves as a Board of Trustees member of Qatar National Library and served as a board member in Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC) and as an advisory board member of the AIR institute in Spain. He has extensive academic and technical experience in the areas of edge intelligence, network management, network security, blockchains, and quantum networks. He received the Platinum award from HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Education Excellence Day 2013 (PhD category). He received five international best paper awards and more than 14 major research grants from Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation Council. He published more than 250 papers in top venues and worked closely with many industrial partners in joint research projects.
