Geographically, Doha is at the heart of the GCC and is a driving force in the MENA region’s exhibition and event scene. Qatar’s welcoming capital sits comfortably at the crossroads between East, West, North and South; around 80% of the world’s population is within six hours’ flight. In the glittering West Bay district, the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), sits in the middle of the city’s thriving commercial network, ideally situated to host MWC, the world’s most influential connectivity event.
For the first time in November this year, MWC25 Doha will convene global delegations and the world’s tech visionaries to connect and create new opportunities for innovation that moves markets and digital advancement that makes a difference. The DECC is where it will all happen.
The DECC has won three awards at Eventex, the world’s largest global event competition. It holds gold status for Best Exhibition and People’s Choice, and silver for Best City Venue.
DECC’s hyper-flexible, high-tech venue design
The DECC is an AIA Chicago Divine Detail Award winner for good reason. A cool and airy foyer with a sweeping glass façade carves out an expansive area popular for networking and informal side meetings. Inside its halls, elegant geometry and muted gold arabesques catch daylight entering via ‘sun-wells’ in a suspended roof shaped like a silver blade. Thanks to its forward-thinking and versatile design, five interconnected halls spanning over half a kilometre can be used for simultaneous events or opened out into a single gallery to form one of the world’s largest pillar-free exhibition spaces.

Supporting sustainable events for the digital community
Sustainability is at the core of the building’s design, with the need for artificial lighting reduced by advanced architecture. In the venue’s operational areas, a smart Building Management System, water recycling, rainwater harvesting and advanced thermal insulation all work to diminish environmental impact and support a zero waste to landfill commitment. Reaching the venue is sustainable too: the Metro link to the DECC – built on cleantech principles - is supported by an extensive bus system projected to be 100% electric by 2030.
Easy access to Doha’s smooth tech event experience
The wider footprint of the DECC houses four levels of open-plan seating, bistros, cafés, and shops, as well as state-of-the-art meeting rooms, luxurious VVIP suites and a boardroom; all equipped with the latest communications systems. A convenient footbridge connects the DECC with Doha’s City Center Mall for shoppers on a schedule.
Few conference centres in the world offer a jogging track or a bike path, but the adjacent DECC park has both. With shady leisure spaces, a central green plaza and landscaped gardens, the park’s urban greenery also improves air quality, doubling as a natural carbon sink.
At 100,000m2, the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center is around the same size as London’s famous ExCeL exhibition venue.
Event expertise at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center
The center has a lively calendar and wide portfolio, including mega-expos, cultural fixtures and forums for national, regional and global policy makers. The DECC offers a world-class space where experts can connect in industries including smart architecture and design, sustainable construction, technology, education and literacy, economics, tourism and manufacturing.
