Session Description
Open Gateway: The monetisation of network APIs to support programmable networks
Open Gateway is driving the standardized adoption of network APIs globally which is enabling new business models, new solutions to real-world business problems and creating new enterprise revenue streams even as the initiative gains global momentum and acceptance.
The conference will focus on two distinct aspects of Open Gateway firstly, examining the success of the early APIs supporting identity management and anti-fraud services which are the key network API revenue drivers globally today and secondly looking at the acceleration of innovation around the increasingly broad and complex set of CAMARA APIs with a particular focus on “advanced” network APIs which enable network programmability and allow services to change the network using APIs such as Quality-on-Demand (QoD), Simple Edge Compute and Device Density which can be used to drive a new set of API based services.
The Open Gateway Summit will heavily focus on innovation and best-practice within the Middle-East region and will showcase the successes, innovations and unique demands of this advanced market.
Finally, the Open Gateway Summit will highlight the importance of collaboration and understanding enterprise demand within the region with insights from the fintech, aviation and automotive industries within the region.
Session 1: Combatting fraud: The role of Identity Management & Anti-Fraud APIs today
Duration: 60 Mins
Moderator: Henry Calvert
Identity Management and Anti-fraud APIs have experienced commercial success globally with network operators collaborating to combat fraud within their markets.
This session explores the success of these important APIs to address real-world challenges faced by banks and retailers today. We will examine the role of operators, aggregators and channel partners in sucvcessfully implementing these solutions and consider how to maintain the momentum and achieve even better adoption in 2026.

Session 2: Monetising programmable networks: the rise of advanced network APIs
Duration: 60 Mins
Moderator: Paresh Modi
This session will examine how new advanced network APIs are able to support programmable networks delivering improved network quality, insights and customer experience. We will examine how industry innovators are starting to use API to enable programmable networks and the benefits and trade-offs required to accelerate adoption of API-driven services.
We will also ask the question, "Where next for the evolution of network APIs", what services will they enable and how do we ensure that they create new enterprise revenue streams.
Finally, we'll consider the importance of the "demand side" of the equation. What are the key industries and segments that are most likely to innovate and adopt network APIs to solve their real-world business problems? What are the early stage learnings from the GSMA's industry-led Fusion programme from their engagement with industry verticals and what does it mean for you?
